Bioimag was founded in June 2013 and became a spinoff of the Spanish Scientific Council (CSIC) where its two founders developed its technology. Its founders are


Julian Daich- PhD student in Biophysics with 17 years of experience in the biomedical industry in Israel, Spain and US and also as an entrepreneur. His currently affiliated to CSIC and Harvard Medical School and in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.





Marisela Vélez- Ph.D. in Biophysics from the University of Michigan Research Scientist at the Instituto de Catálisis y Petroleoquímica at CSIC. She is the head of the group of biofunctionalized surfaces membranes from the biocatalysis department.




Before its establishment as company, Bioimag has a vibrant trajectory as project receiving prizes from entities involving MIT and Madrid institutions as CIADE and madri+ d.

Our headquarters are in the Centro de Cirugía de Mínima Inavasión (CCMI), a research and educational center at Cáceres, Spain, form August 2014. In October of this year Bioimag received officially support from the European FEDER found.

There are three patents applications covering its core technology, one of them applied by the Spanish Scientific Council and licensed to Bioimag.
